Special Duty
SUBJECT: POLICE SPECIAL OFF-DUTY COMPENSATION RATE
INCREASE
This will serve as notice that the Maui Police Department
will be implementing a rate increase for Police Special Off-Duty Services,
effective November 1, 2004.
At present, the charge out rates for Special Off-Duty Services are $22.00/hour
for patrol officers and $25.00/hour for supervisors. These rates were established
on October 16, 1985, approximately 18 years ago. Through research we conducted
statewide and lengthy discussions within our department, we concluded the
rate increase is an appropriate adjustment and we are seeking adequate compensation
for our officers. Listed below are the new rates for special off-duty compensation:
